“The Illustrated Story of American Presidents “ – The World Around Us- A Classics Illustrated Comic 1960. “The President of the United States is simply chosen by the American people in free elections.”
In a time of great uncertainty, one thing is irrefutable. America will soon elect a new president.

Presidential campaigning “The Illustrated Story of American Presidents “ – The World Around Us- A Classics Illustrated Comic 1960.
Our long national nightmare of insults, spectacle, abuse and hyperventilation is nearly over, but who will stand alongside such illustrious company as Washington, Jefferson and Lincoln as chief executive of our country commander-in-chief of its armed forces, and maker of our foreign policy is still uncertain.
What does remain crystal clear is Donald Trump’s stunning lack of knowledge about how our government works.
After a year of cringe worthy comments, that concept may not be as shocking but it is deeply distressing. Trump has been dismissive of separation of powers, civil liberties, and civil rights.
You know, those things that make America great.
Every Vote Counts

Who’s rigging who? How about the rigging on the part of the Trump campaign and the RNC who are coordinating voter intimidation and voter suppression efforts. Vintage comic “The Illustrated Story of American Presidents” A Classics Illustrated Comic
While it is unprecedented to call a presidential election “rigged” before voting has even taking place, nothing about this election is precedented, from a woman candidate to a highly unqualified man-child running for the highest office in the land.
In recent weeks that whiny, temperamental Republican candidate has predicted rampant voter fraud, and threatened to reject the results of the American election if he loses as illegitimate, using language that undermines our democratic system.

Does Donald Trump even understand how democracy works? Does he even have a rudimentary grasp what our Founding fathers had in mind when they formed out government and wrote the Constitution.
Perhaps Trump doesn’t know how much he doesn’t know. He has revealed again and again his ignorance of our political system and an unwillingness to learn.

“The Illustrated Story of American Presidents “ – The World Around Us- A Classics Illustrated Comic 1960. “The life stream of America flows in the story of its presidents.”
As a help, I offer up in comic book format an explanation of how we elect a president, how the founding fathers envisioned the presidency and set up our form of government. So easily to understand even a fifth grader can digest it.
With the attention span of a 10-year-old and seemingly unable to read and absorb anything substantive, what better source of information for Mr. Trump than a colorful easy to read comic book entitled “The Illustrated Story of American Presidents.”
Part of the World Around Us Series a spin-off from Classics Illustrated Comics that offered adaptations of literary classics, I’m sure it’s a series a young Donald might have been very familiar with. After all, why read a weighty tome like Moby Dick when in 48 pages you can read a colorful comic in easy to understand language.
Make America Great Again

The comic book published in 1960, comes from that mythical time Trump seems to want to take us back to, a time of American exceptionalism, when America was great.
You know that exceptional time of conflict free, whiter than white America, when women knew their place was in the home, and pesky Blacks , Hispanics and Homosexuals were not only kept off the comic book pages but kept in the shadows of society where they belonged.

Trump has revealed again and again his knowledge deficit about our political system with his nonsensical rhetoric.

Even if he has read the Constitution which was a serious question raised by Khizr and Ghazala Khan during DNC- Trump doesn’t believe in its core principles and values.
Separation Of Powers

Does Donald Trump even understand how democracy works? As a presidential a rudimentary understanding of our system is a reasonable expectations. Vintage illustration “The Illustrated Story of American Presidents “ – The World Around Us- A Classics Illustrated Comic 1960.
Trump doesn’t understand the difference between state and federal authority, the basic principles of federalism which underline the Constitution; nor does he care about the separation of powers the founding Constitutional idea that the president, Congress and the courts have different responsibilities in order to prevent tyranny.
Other than his repeated love of the Second Amendment, Trump shows he disagrees with the very fabric of the documents.

Inauguration
If Donald Trump were elected he would have to swear the same allegiance to the Constitution that every president has before him. “I do solemnly swear that I will faithfully execute the office of president of the United States and will to the best of my ability preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the Unites States.”

If he were to utter those last 10 words he would be lying – which sadly has been the norm for Donald Trump.
“If the life stream of America flows in the story of its presidents,” as the comic suggested, then the health of our nation might be close to being on life support if we elect Donald Trump as president.
